Deggendorf, Germany, October 21, 2009 * * * congatec AG, a leading supplier of embedded computer modules, announces that the company has registered record order levels for the first nine months of 2009. For the first time in the history of the company, orders reached a volume of over 10 million Euro. Part of the orders are to be delivered within this current year while the other part will be delivered in the first half of 2010. Growth was particularly strong in the field of low-power computer modules for mobile applications, a market segment from which congatec expects additional high growth in the future.
The increase in orders is all the more remarkable in these difficult times when companies tend to place orders at short notice. That congatec’s order levels are on the increase despite the current economic climate is seen as a positive factor by congatec CEO Gerhard Edi: “congatec is bucking the trend by continuing to record strong growth. Our strategy of concentrating on rapidly growing markets has proven to be a highly successful path for us. We have also been able to significantly expand our customer base over the previous months, not least due to our new, very low-power modules. Our outlook for the future is therefore very optimistic and we are expecting healthy growth for 2009 despite the economic crisis.”
Technofonds Bayern (The Bavarian Technology Fund) of Bayern Kapital GmbH, together with a group of lead investors, increased its holding in congatec this summer by one million Euro. This additional investment ensures that the aspired growth is financially secured beyond 2009.
