Nuremberg, Embedded World, 02 March 2011 * * * congatec AG, a leading manufacturer of embedded computer modules, introduces the new conga-MCB, a mini carrier board for COM Express Compact modules that is perfect for space-critical applications. It is ideal for the quick construction of prototypes but can also be used for high performance mobile applications.
The easily integrated mini carrier board is only 145 x 95 mm with various interfaces based on the latest standards and can accelerate the evaluation phase of the design-in to ensure a rapid market introduction. In addition to four USB ports and a Gigabit Ethernet connection, the graphic interfaces include DisplayPort, HDMI, LVDS, DVI and VGA. Beyond that, it also offers other standard interfaces such as high definition audio and a mini PCI Express socket, which can, for example, be used for WLAN. For the connection of mass storage, 2x SATA, SD-Card and CFast have been integrated.
Power can be supplied using either 12V or 5V DC. All necessary signals for battery management are available so that the congatec Smart Battery Manager (conga-SBM2C) can be used directly for easier implementation of a mobile system. When using an ACPI capable operating system such as Linux or Windows, communication with the battery system is fully implemented; special software or a BIOS adaptation is therefore not necessary.
