NXP i.MX 95 with doubled inference performance

NXP i.MX 95 applications processors offer a heterogeneous processor architecture for embedded applications, with computing units optimized for different tasks. Featuring four or six high-performance Arm Cortex-A55 cores, i.MX 95 applications processors enable more than twice as many inference calculations as NXP i.MX 8M Plus processors with a maximum of four Arm Cortex-A53 cores.

NXP eIQ® Neutron – innovative ML accelerator

To ensure secure AI inference and machine learning (ML) at the edge, the i.MX MX95 family integrates the NXP eIQ Neutron neural processing unit (NPU). It provides hardware acceleration for local AI applications and empowers edge computing platforms to make decisions efficiently and securely. The eIQ Neutron NPU supports multiple types of neural networks such as CNN, RNN, TCN, Transformer Networks, and many more. NXP’s eIQ machine learning software development environment simplifies the development of powerful ML applications. The NXP eIQ Neutron NPU also forms part of a vision processing pipeline for use with multiple camera sensors or networked smart cameras.

The i.MX 95 processors further feature an entirely new image signal processor (ISP). It supports RGB-IR to enhance performance in poor lighting conditions and is optimized for dual zones of interest, allowing for different camera focus points. These capabilities make the i.MX95 an ideal hardware platform for vision-based applications in the industrial, robotics, medical, and automotive sectors requiring multiple image sensors.

NXP leverages the Arm® Mali™ GPU for the i.MX 95

The powerful Arm Mali 3D graphics unit is specifically developed for users seeking to create immersive video and graphics displays for entertainment and HMI applications. Hence it delivers more GFLOPS for GPU calculations and higher frame rates, resulting in smoother and sharper rendering of moving content.

Innovative security solution – NXP EdgeLock® secure enclave

Data security is a top priority, especially for edge computing applications. Leveraging the new EdgeLock secure enclave, NXP significantly enhances data protection by integrating an advanced architecture with state-of-the-art threat prevention and support for the latest cryptographic protocols.
