Deggendorf, Germany, April 10, 2008 * * * congatec AG, a leading innovator in embedded computing, today announced that it has incorporated a US entity, congatec Inc., and will begin looking for a location for a California-based office immediately. The office will initially employ about 10 congatec employees headed by Ron Mazza, an industry veteran of more than 30 years.
“Although congatec is a young company, it was started by some of the most experienced technologists in the computer-on-module market. Building our products from the ground up has allowed us to offer some of the most advanced technology on the market. Our latest creation is the new industry standard, called QSeven,™ that will address all mobile and ultra mobile applications. The fact that the company is already profitable in Europe and Asia shows the tremendous customer demand already in place for our products,” stated Gerhard Edi, CEO of congatec AG.
congatec Highlights at ESC Silicon Valley
Attendees of ESC Silicon Valley 2008 will have the opportunity to see a live demonstration of congatec’s extremely low power consuming COM Express™ Compact module called conga-CA. It features the brand new Intel® Atom™ processor Z5xx series and the Intel® System Controller Hub US15W.
Mobile applications are becoming more and more important within the embedded market. Recognizing this trend, congatec has created a battery management module called the conga-SBM² and will have a hands-on display at the show. The conga-SBM² module is 19V DC powered and utilizes up to two smart batteries. This solution supports the XTX® and COM Express™ module standards.
The complete product range of ETX®, XTX® and COM Express™ modules will also be presented at the Embedded Systems Conference.
In addition one of congatec's technology partners, Real-Time Systems, will demonstrate how to utilize multi-core architectures in today’s industry environments. This display will show how the real time hypervisior is able to operate multiple operating systems on a single COM Express™ or XTX® module.
